Terms and conditions

1. Rental Agreement

The agreement is between VAS Rent a Bike (Vinci Active Sport SL with VAT ID B01606003, REGISTRATION DETAILS: Volume 2041, Folio 80, Entry 1, Sheet AL-52123 of RM Almería) and you, as the lessee of the equipment (bicycles, accessories, extras, etc.) in the rental agreement.

2. Subleasing

Subleasing to a third party is expressly prohibited without prior written agreement, i.e., with an agency contract.

3. Reservation

3.1 To make an online reservation for bicycles and other material, you must pay 100% of the total price through our TPV (Point of Sale).

3.2 To cancel the reservation, you must contact us by email to cancel your reservation.

3.2.1 If you inform us of the cancellation at least 15 days before the pickup date, we will refund the full prepayment you paid in the reservation.

3.2.2 If the cancellation request is received between 14 and 7 days before the rental start date, we will charge 50% of the reservation value. 

3.2.3 If the cancellation request is received less than 6 days before the rental start date, 100% of the total reservation value will be charged. This means we will charge the total amount owed to your debit/credit card.

3.2.4 If you do not pick up the bicycles on the rental day, we will charge the total payment of the reservation to your debit/credit card.

3.2.5 Cancellations due to weather conditions are not accepted.

3.2.6 If you are delayed in picking up the bicycle(s) for more than 24 hours, please inform us. Otherwise, we will cancel your reservation the day after its start date, charging the corresponding fees.

4. Required Documents

When picking up the bicycle(s) and/or other material, you must present a valid and current identification document, such as your ID card, foreign residency permit, or passport. Under no circumstances will a driver’s license or credit/debit card be accepted as a valid identification document. You must also provide information about your accommodation, such as a hotel, including the room number.

5. Pickup and return location

The bicycle(s) and other material will be picked up and returned at VAS Rent a Bike, according to the agreed branch or location, based on the following delivery rates:

5.1 Delivery charges:

We offer convenient delivery and pick-up services for our bike rentals. The total cost for both delivery and pick-up is €30. If you prefer, you can choose just one of these services:

Delivery Only: €15

Pick-up Only: €15

5.2 Delivery conditions:

The customer is not available or does not answer at the indicated location:  

  • A minimum of 3 calls will be made to the customer and an email will be sent informing of our presence.
  • We will wait a total of 20 minutes at the location.
  • If after this time no response has been received from the client, we will proceed to leave the location.  
  • In case of withdrawal, an email will be sent to the customer indicating that we have attended the location, but did not get a response.  The customer will have two options: pay for another delivery/collection service or come to the shop in person to pick up or deliver the bike.

The customer is absent at the location but responds to us and asks to wait:

  • If the customer responds indicating that he/she is absent but requests that we wait, we will only be at the location for 20 minutes.

5.3 Rescheduling the service:  

  • In the event of rescheduling the service, the customer will be informed that the new appointment will be subject to staff and bike availability.
  • Rescheduling will be free of charge as long as the worker has not already travelled to the location or there are more than 12 hours to the scheduled appointment. Otherwise, a charge will be made for the service. 

6. The material

VAS Rent a Bike will provide you with the bicycle(s) and other material (pedals, helmets, tool bags, chargers, etc.) in perfect condition. You must return all the material in the same condition as received, except for normal wear and tear (wheels, brakes, etc.). When the bicycle(s) and other materials are returned, VAS Rent a Bike personnel will inspect them to confirm their condition. If there are any breakages or damages, you are obligated to pay the recommended sale price plus the labor cost to replace or repair each damaged piece, unless you have purchased insurance.

7. Rental period

You are responsible for the bicycle(s) and other material during the rental period.

7.1 The rental period begins when you pick up the material and ends when a member of Vas Rent a Bike’s staff receives it.

7.2 You must pick up and return the material during the store’s opening hours.

7.3 If the bicycles and other material are returned before the contracted period ends, no refund will be provided for the remaining time.

7.4 If you fail to comply with the agreed rental period, you are obligated to pay a minimum penalty of €50. If you return the bicycle(s) later than agreed upon, affecting the reservation of another customer, a penalty of up to €500 will be imposed.

8. Costs

You must pay the amount indicated in the rental agreement. This amount will be paid at the time of picking up the bicycle(s) and other material. You are also responsible for any extension of the rental period. Additionally, you will be liable for any damage or theft that may occur. By signing this rental agreement, you agree that we will charge your payment card for all incurred charges during the rental period.

9. Use of the bicycle(s) and other material

9.1 Usage Guidelines:

9.1.1 Handle the bicycle(s) with due care and skill. It is essential to ride with respect and caution towards others.

9.1.2 Use the bicycle(s) in accordance with Spanish legislation, always respecting traffic rules and regulations.

9.1.3 Use the bicycle(s) lawfully and for lawful purposes.

9.1.4 Use the safety measures and safeguards provided by Vas Rent a Bike. You are obligated to use these measures whenever you are using the bicycle(s). VAS Rent a Bike recommends securing the bike with a lock through the frame, saddle, and wheels, attaching the lock to a fixed object or designated bike parking area. In any case, the lock is only a deterrent and should never be left unattended.

9.1.5 Stop using the bicycle(s) if you detect any problems and inform Vas Rent a Bike as soon as possible.

9.2 Restrictions:

9.2.1 Do not use the bicycle(s) for commercial purposes.

9.2.2 Do not tow other vehicles with the bicycle(s).

9.2.3 Do not transport flammable, explosive, corrosive, or combustible substances.

9.2.4 The Bikes cannot be tampered with or modified by customers.

10. Accidents, theft, and damages

You must immediately inform the police and Vas Rent a Bike if you have been involved in an accident. If you lose the bicycle(s) and/or other material, if they are stolen or damaged, you are obligated to pay the full price of the bicycle(s) or material at their recommended retail value.

11. Health declaration

By signing this agreement, you declare that you are in perfect health and know how to use the rented bicycle(s) and other equipment.

12. Prohibited substances

You declare that you have not consumed drugs, alcohol, dangerous medications, or other prohibited substances before renting the bicycle(s) and other equipment.

13. Age requirement

You must be of legal age (18) to enter into this contract. If you are a minor, you must be accompanied by an adult who will provide express authorization.

14. Insurance and liability

You are responsible for obtaining an insurance policy covering the risks associated with the use of the bicycle(s). VAS Rent a Bike assumes no responsibility in any case for accidents, injuries, deaths, or damages or harm caused to third parties. VAS Rent a Bike is not liable for the loss of personal belongings or theft that may occur during the rental period.

15. Applicable law

The applicable law governing the contract between you and VAS Rent a Bike is Spanish law, and the place of jurisdiction is throughout the Spanish territory.
